Lateral have password (or date of birth) protected all of our automated communications to help protect us from GDPR breaches and an added benefit of that is that we can see when a debtor has opened either an SMS or email, so no more ‘I didn’t receive that bill, letter etc’ excuses\! And it's probably the automation that I like the most about the system as I can not stress enough the time saved and efficiency gained from this automation plus we have seen an immediate increase in debtor engagement from the automated communications and webforms. The automation has meant that painstaking tedious manual processes have been negated allowing staff resource to be concentrated on our more challenging cases. > > **Cons**: I can really only think of 1 extremely minor cosmetic criticism that I don't like on the system which is that the drop down items are not in alphabetical order. Anything else we have not liked or have requested has been altered or developed as the Lateral team is extremely knowledgeable, approachable and always looking at ways to improve their product to enable us to work in a smarter and more efficient manner. > > Lateral took the time to fully understand our business (providing debt recovery for a number of commercial clients) and wrote a bespoke system around our requirements, suggesting many enhancements that we had not considered. We ended up with an extremely secure system that delivers vastly more than we originally asked for.
