Pros:

The customer service is top notch. Every time I call in, whoever is on the other line is always ready and eager to answer any questions I may have. They also provide useful input on strategy with how to create a button, modifier or how to implement an idea I have in my head and put it to use via our POS.

Cons:

The keyboard is the only negative thing with SpotOn. It's a funny joke amongst our staff at how awesome the system is top to bottom but the keyboard is the only part of SpotOn restaurant we don't understand.

Cons:

A few months ago, we had problems with our credit card processing. They quickly found out that the software was outdated so they quickly updated it. Problem resolved.

Comments: Will be shopping for a new system tonight. Regret every second that I trusted Jake to set up in two locations.

Pros:

Nothing. I honestly cannot say one good thing about this system.

Cons:

From not allowing us to start a tab with American Express to not allowing us to re adjust a tip if it was entered incorrectly.. For the system to not have a fail safe function to not allow a 1million percent tip is absurd...

Pretty Good

Pros:

I love how clean & simple this POS is. I like the layout, and the reporting aspect is great. I love the dual-pricing. I like that they offer a cellular backup incase of an internet problem. Building menu's and adding items is easy. I love all the different printer options, taxing etc. You can get pretty specific. I love the permission's based job positions.

Cons:

It's not meant for pizza places. The customer info is hard, I wish the phone number name and address would automatically pop up. I don't like when it goes down. I don't like that there's three different websites (BOH, reporting, Dashboard) and then another if you get gift cards (through ECS.)

Comments: Overall things are great. The support system is much improved than it was originally. I would still suggest that the same person working on a support ticket follow it through to the end/completion. We often have 3-4 people try to help us with issues and have to repeat the problem several times to get them up to speed. We are pleased with the improvements in reliability of the system compared to a year ago this time.

Pros:

[sensitive content hidden] is STELLAR! We have had the great fortune of working with him over the last 6 months. He is a man of many talents. He has helped us troubleshoot and resolve some printer issues (hardware), and worked through some programming issues (software) with our integration to R365 accounting. He is always very easy to work with and quick to respond. He is willing to really dig deep and figure out our issues. We love working with him.

Cons:

Early on we could tell that you were growing too fast and too big. There were lots of situations with lapse in communication and release of new features that didn't work properly. As well several times that the reporting sites when down during very busy shifts. It didn't earn a lot of trust with our teams. We really want to implement the Handheld devices for our servers and the product is completely different than the workstation. Its like teaching someone to use 2 different systems. Make them the same please. AND SOON!

The customer service has been great and the variety of features it has will be helpful as we grow.

Cons:

The switch wasn't as easy as it looked but the customer service reps have been very quick to respond and help us through every issue.

Pros:

We appreciate the responsiveness of the staff at SpotOn. We feel supported by their support team and like we have contingencies in place in case something were to go wrong like internet outtage and system glitches. We feel these would be quickly handled and tended to.

Cons:

There's a learning curve with SpotOn. The system can be a little bit confusing to understand at first because you have to be navigate different websites. However, the staff is always available.

Effective and in point and has tons of options for my restaurant, customer service is outstanding, back up router is a huge plus when the Internet goes down you can still be able to operate

Great product that needs fine tuning

Comments: Customer service has been great and they are always kind. They helped go through the system when I got the new pos in the store.

Pros:

I like the ability to provide a discount for cash sales. The POS is user friendly. The layout is user friendly. The website created was better than I expected.

Cons:

I could not merge my gift cards that I previously used because there were letters in the code. I now have to accept as cash and then the reports are incorrect. Any customers that I had with loyalty before do not merge to SpotOn because I did not use phone numbers for in store orders. The first POS system was never shipped so I needed a new order to have one shipped. I spent weeks on the phone with tech support because it was not updating properly and finally I was sent a new system that is working properly. I am now charged for multiple POS systems although I only have one. I have spent a month trying to get it sorted out but have not been refunded for the overcharge and although billing cancelled the extra equipment, I am being charged again extra for this month. Virtual Terminal is not great for sending invoices and does not sync with inventory. Big problem when the business is selling inventory. Not able to exchange an item.

Pros:

The local support from [sensitive content hidden] and his team have been very attentive to details and very hands on with customer support and technical service. The company has always treated us fairly. And we value that.

Cons:

Nothing. There have been a few outages that were inconveniences for an hour. No big deal.

Great Customer Support

Comments: We have not had any major issues. Ease of use and building menus and making changes is a great benefit. Customer service has been great.

Pros:

[sensitive content hidden] assisted us in making sure we were able to make our expo screen work to fit our needs. If he was not able to assist with features we wanted to be able to use, he researched how to make them work for us. [sensitive content hidden] has always been a great help with questions regarding answered quickly and made sure I was passed on to the correct person, to assist us.

Cons:

The order entering screen is sometimes way more steps than it seems it should be.

Spot on replaces Emagine POS

Pros:

I think Spot on, since taking over Emagine POS, has gone down hill, You never know who you will be getting support from. The reporting does not seem accurate. Not happy with it at all. Would definately be looking in to another POS system if my father wasnt so dedicated to [sensitive content hidden] and [sensitive content hidden] who sold to Spot on (I think thats what happend). Sent us a computer that was "New" but was linked up with another company, so def not new. Trying to hook up a register drawer to our take out computer....yeah that doesnt work. Networks are all screwed up. Not easy to set up anything. Just simply not happy. Was better off with Emagine. But event with them towards the end. Would have looked into another POS system. Maybe you should send people out on the field to help people, that may not be computer literate, to get through issues. just saying.... not everyone knows a lot about setting up computers, etc. Send techs out to help, would make a big difference. Spot on, absolutely do not reccommend for small business owners. but yes, maybe you are good for the Lincoln Finaical Center in Philadelphia.

Cons:

You could improve by sending out people to help small business owners understand the step up and features you offer, you pretty much make us figure things out on our own.... adding a new printer or register, good luck. Our takeout register wont hook up with spot on and open, like our bar register. Try talking to "[sensitive content hidden] " from where ever the hell he is located, no answers. cant figure things out. Send out technicians or send out reps to help and not over the phone. you literally get nowhere and throw in the towel and half ass work with what you can use.

Going above and beyond

Comments: It was rocky in the beginning. But now that I have met my case manager [sensitive content hidden] who knows a lot and fixed every problem that was done wrong by my area manager. She really messed a lot up. thanks to [sensitive content hidden], [sensitive content hidden], [sensitive content hidden] who went above and beyond to fix everything. The Pos is very easily understandable to use.

Pros:

Very easy program to use. 24 hr customer support.

Cons:

There were promises before signed up with Areas rep . She mad a lot of mistakes and did not really know about the product she was selling. I the end spot on made up for it.

Comments: Overall: I have worked with Spoton for over two years and I can tell that their technology keeps improving. I currently use the facing display and it is perfect for my loyal customers. I can provide a notch service and keep my customers engaged with Spoton’s all-around platform. Nightmare from day 1

Comments: Not good.. I do not recommend!!

Pros:

The virtual terminal was fairly easy to use.

Cons:

We also had them develop a logo and website for us and the first logo they sent us looked like a 12 year hand drawn, shadow text of our business name. Not creative to say the least. We ended up paying someone within the company that is familiar with PhotoShop to design it. I have asked over and over to have our contact info changed and they say it's done, but reverts back to old info. Trying to cancel the service was as painful as setting up. They keep charging us even though we canceled well over a month ago.
