I’ve used Aloha, hell, I’ve even used Squirrel. These Point of Sale Systems were, at one time, standard. Aloha was touted as almost able to read a servers mind. Last week, I was shown what a new Point of Sale system, SpotOn could do. 🤯🤯🤯mind blown. The back of the house alone is wizardry and I really saw some serious potential to manage your business from anywhere in the world. The front was so intuitive. It was easy to use and if the support is half as good as was touted, it’s going to change the game. When I was told that the cost is typically a fraction of what other major systems run, I couldn’t contain myself. I want to figure out how I can use it for my company. Technology is amazing. It’s about time that these systems are being made for chefs/restauranteurs by chefs/Restauranteurs and it seems like they have thought of everything. Nothing worked correctly. From taking 5 minutes to run one transaction, to the equipment locking up constantly and needing rebooted to our bar code scanner never working. Don't do it. There are much better systems out there. The reporting is lacking big time too. Only gross and net sales. No c.o.g.s, margins, profit or loss. > > Horrible. We ended up canceling a month into using this system. We were told by our rep that they would reimburse us for the equipment. Never happened. Then they continued charging us for the monthly fee, two extra months when we had canceled already. Have been told by customer support and "management" that there is nothing that they can do. My overall experience is a lesson learned.
