A user-friendly platform for employee management

4.0 2 months ago New

Comments: It has been a tool of great help, as it enables maintaining employee records, accounts remotely. It has removed duplication of efforts and helped in efficient management of data. Remote access has been a great feature.

Pros:

The best thing about Rippling is that one can manage the entire lifecycle of employees, and also HR, IT, and payroll management. It offers a user-friendly interface, and is easy to install, setup and work with. One can remotely access the records, and has helped us get rid of locally managing details of every employee.

Cons:

The pricing has been on the higher side, and it can be a problem for startups to adopt this. Also, customer support needs to be prompt, otherwise it is a good tool to be incorporated.

Disappointing Experience with Poor Support - Not Recommended

1.0 last month New

Comments: Our experience with Rippling has been overwhelmingly negative. The software has failed to deliver on its promises, and the lack of support combined with inflexible contract terms has made it an unwise choice for our business. We wouldn’t recommend it to others based on our experience.

Pros:

Unfortunately, there was very little to like about Rippling. The platform promised a streamlined approach to HR and payroll management, but it didn’t deliver on these promises.

Cons:

The onboarding process was confusing and ineffective, and when we tried to address issues after the first month, we were locked into a one-year contract. Additionally, we discovered overcharges for services we did not use, and customer support was unhelpful in resolving these issues. Overall, it was a very frustrating experience.

Would Recommend!

5.0 3 months ago

Comments: Very positive. I have been in People Ops for over 10 years and Rippling has the most robust out-of-the-box solution I've seen. Optimal for new businesses and those start-ups looking to scale.

Pros:

Rippling is always adapting and enhancing their products. They have a full suite of solutions and a support team available to offer guidance. I have been very impressed with their tooling and how their products have scaled with us as our business has grown from 100 employees to over 400.

Cons:

Rippling has many integrations; however, most third parties are only one-way, which creates some limitations. Additionally, one vendor that we wish Rippling would build an API with is Sparrow - this has been on the wish list for several years. It appears adding new integrations is not high on Rippling's roadmap at this time. As such, be sure to confirm what integrations are available and if they are 360 or 180 connections, before purchasing so that you have the right expectations going into it.

Great for remote companies, easy to use

5.0 2 months ago New

Comments: My company switched to Rippling earlier this year and the transition from our old HR software felt seamless. It is incredibly easy to use to view your pay, select your benefits, and just overall do anything related to HR as a remote worker.

Pros:

I really like the ease of use and the UI.

Cons:

I honestly do not think that I have anything negative to say about Rippling. It is a very good product.

User-friendly and a great payroll manager!

4.0 4 weeks ago New

Comments: Overall very positive! Intuitive and useful software!

Pros:

The end user experience is very simple and easy to understand. I love having all of my information about pay, benefits, and 401k in the same location.

Cons:

The time-off tracking is ok, but I find our company defaults to other more thorough products to manage things like sick leave and planned time off.

Review of Rippling

5.0 2 months ago

Pros:

Liked how it is a one stop solution for everything HR related and how I get notifications regarding everything. I like how I can check my pay related details on the phone anywhere!

Cons:

No complaints for Rippling as an application but the way it was implemented. My employer said they would match my HSA contribution up to $100 but while I was selecting that the employer contribution was fixed at $100 and didn't change with my contribution amount which created some confusion.

More intense features

5.0 8 months ago

Comments: Rippling is so far very comfortable to ADP. I believe rippling, has a few features that are far better than it’s competitors. I would highly recommend.

Pros:

What I really like about Ripley was the ability to be able to track the employee location when they clocked in we kept them all honest

Cons:

Sometimes it would go down and we’re having issues clocking them in so in the background we had to clock them in manually

Easy Payroll Tracking with bonus Company-Wide Information

5.0 7 months ago

Comments: I've enjoyed using it and enjoy looking at the main window detailing events happening within the company.

Pros:

I love the look and feel of it. It's easy to maneuver and has a lot of details regarding the personal user, as well as company information. You can see the company org chart, see comments and memos, as well as all insurance information for a user. You can request time off and keep track of everything regarding an indivdual.

Cons:

There was a learning curve when we first implemented it, but after a short time, it was a breeze.

BEWARE: Not ready for Canadian support!

3.0 last year

Comments: I would never choose Rippling for anything to do with providing Canadian support. Even our US team was having struggles and finding it far more manual than we were led to believe it would be. Buyer beware, they over-promise and under deliver in EVERY ASPECT of the system.

Pros:

Very little to be honest. Our global implementation manager was nice, but we had to educate him on some Canadian practices when we feel he should have been aware of them. **there is no Canadian based sales, support or implementation managers, CSMs, etc. they do not understand Canadian tax laws or ESA provisions and the Dev team does not have ETAs for updates on critical needs to help smooth out the processes for Canadian companies.

Cons:

Rippling is not ready to appropriately support paying Canadians and working with Canadian companies. There are a number of issues that consistently arose with using Rippling for our Canadian team. Payroll was far more manual for us, we had to check Rippling's work and calculations all the time and often found errors. They cannot do salary continuance easily, you can't easily update ROEs (you have to contact support to do this and it takes a few extra days so you could potentially be out of compliance if it they have questions). They don't calculate PTO earned on ESA pay in lieu notice unless the EE continues to work during the notice period. They don't calculate stat holiday pay if an EE is resigning or terminated in that pay period. This is just the issues we've run into with payroll and Canadian support. Setting up the PTO was finicky and they have defualt provisions that are annoying to turn off and can't be edited or deleted so if you something above ESA provisions then you have to make separate PTO policies, and US defaults first ALWAYS. Initially when we set up everything was under one section for Canada and the US and then they changed it on us and I was told I'd have to set up everything for Canada all over again. I had to push back to support to say that was not okay because we had just finished our implementation (which was an incredibly intense 4 weeks) - eventually after pushing back enough they said they would migrate the policies for me.

Always growing and upgrading services

5.0 last year

Comments: Even with the billing inconveniences, I would still recommend Rippling - it's the best HRIS system I have worked with to this point.

Pros:

Rippling is an all in one HRIS platform that is very user friendly and very customizable. I have enjoyed working with Rippling and would defiantly recommend it to other companies.

Cons:

I've struggled with the way Rippling handles billing. Our finance department has a hard time weeding through the way the billing happens.

Rippling is a crucial vertically integrated HR stack that will streamline your operation

5.0 7 months ago

Comments: Rippling has been complex at times to implement but this is because one platform is handling our entire employee lifecycle process. All in all, we have faith that Rippling will continue to innovate empowering us to consolidate our entire HR stack in one place. A must for businesses that value vertically integrated efficiency.

Pros:

We moved to Rippling because of the incredible depth of features across the HR employee lifecycle. Previously, we had separate tools for HRIS, performance management. This was incredibly expensive and cumbersome to run standalone tools. With Rippling, we consolidated our entire people stack into one which empowers us to increase efficiency, reduce cost and manage everything from one place.

Cons:

Rippling is not the most beautiful UX/UI and can be a little jarring. We used Lattice before Rippling and the UX was beautiful. This, of course, isn't the most important thing but it was noticeable.

A great way to bootstrap a small company

4.0 12 months ago

Comments: Great, the platform does what it says and it does it well. I would also say that given how much it can do, it's surprisingly easy to use. Most of what you want to do you can figure out just by clicking through the webapp. If you do get stuck there is plenty of help available online.

Pros:

I like how many things Rippling can take care of that you don't want to be worrying about finding separate products for and integrating them while you're trying to run a small business.

Cons:

Its greatest strength is also what puts me off a bit. Because it does so much you are placing a great deal of trust in it. We had a few outages in the year I used it which meant we lost access to our cloud environments temporarily which was a huge problem. I think some care needs to be taken to have some redundancy around Rippling if you are going to make use of many of its features!

Nightmare to cancel or cost control

1.0 12 months ago

Pros:

Highly integrated platform across HR functions. Jack of many, master of none.

Cons:

Support when signing up and adding additional billable items is very strong. However, when our VC funding fell through and we needed to cancel, I've been given the runaround. They require contracts to lock you in to your maximum usage every month, not your variable usage. If you are unhappy with the service, you cannot request to cancel the auto-renewal until 6 months into your contract. After waiting 6 months, I reached out to cancel my auto-renewal. I tried following the online documentation, but the Cancel Button was disabled from my account. I contacted sales who sent me to Support. Support said I had to talk to my dedicated CSM. I didn't have a dedicated CSM. It took a week for a dedicated CSM to respond. They then said I had to reach out to Support. It's now been 9 months of trying to cancel my auto-renewal, with each interaction involvoing a new condition, a new email address, a new form, or a new person. I've been totally unsuccessful in cancelling auto-renewal, and had to file a stop payment with my bank account. You will end up paying for people no longer on your payroll throughout your contract, and cancelling is a hellish runaround.

Rippling isa fully featured HRIS suite with excellent customer service to manage through issues

5.0 last year

Comments: We were able to consolidate 4 platforms into 1.

Pros:

The implementation process with Rippling is really special. Each of there "apps" has a workflow built in the UI to step through configuration, data transfer, documentation and the other steps. We really liked this. Also, the customer service is as good as people say. A great knowledge base with video walkthroughs, quick chat responses and a dedicated team of human resources.

Cons:

There are only two areas that I would say we have been disappointment with. 1. Scheduling is not available in time management yet. We have been told its on the road map, but for now there is not a simple, native way to track attendance against a schedule for hourly employees. 2. Benefits admin in Rippling was designed to use forms that are emailed to carriers for updates rather than the industry standard EDI file transfer. They recently added a partner that does EDI with a number of carriers so this has become less of a problem.

Comments: I have had a good experience with Rippling. I don't have to ask my peers or management for help.

Pros:

I like that the platform is easy to navigate and it saves alot time to get to what Im looking for. I've never had a problem

Cons:

Sometimes looking for time off or how to put time in gets a little tricky but is manageable. Sometimes the support chat pops up and Im looking to just log in.

The most scamming HR product ever

1.0 last year

Comments: Terrible experience. Rippling keeps charging us monthly yet the implementation specialist is missing and dragging us to pay the next month with nothing delivered. The company should only focus on HRIS/payroll. Instead, it expands into IT management, renting warehouses for other companies to store their devices, vendor bill payments. This company is trying to grab all, while none of the things in the plate is completed. For anyone who is not based on U.S., STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY - IT'S A LIE!

Pros:

The idea is good. The details and executions are not. They tried to be international - however details are very lack of.

Cons:

They are U.S based and just started to roll out payroll in Canada which we are using it. it is a joke:1. The implementation specialist ghosted at us. We had a call, I sent couple of follow up emails and even after one week there was no response. As of today, our implementation specialist still absent in the middle of the implementation process.2. We are using rippling Canada. They said we could pay global contractors in USD. We have a USD account but it's with a Canadian bank given we are a Canadian company. We asked if we could pay our global contractors via our USD account that is under a Canadian Bank (ie. Bmo, CIBC's USD account). They have been flipping the answer back and forth and eventually told me it's no. Rippling only pays global contractors via USD account SOLELY based on U.S., or process global payment via Rippling's payment processor, which incurs tons of FX fee. Therefore, the so called "International Payment to global contractor" is a lie to us.3. They ask me to upload employees/contractors details. However, the "contractors' end date" is missing from the template. Therefore it's not showing in the system after you import it. The implementation specialist asked me to retroactively add it one by one. This is ridiculous and doesn't make sense at all. 4. Worker's comp such as WSB is missing. Therefore as an HR specialist, I will have to manually calculate the gross amount each quarter to report.
