Reviews of Semrush
Useful tool for digital marketing professionals
Pros:
It's a practical tool for digital marketing, equipped with a variety of features such as keyword research, rank tracking, content marketing, and competitive analysis.
Cons:
At the beginning, the interface may seem complex. However, the platform offers a Getting Started course, and after some time, everything becomes very clear and familiar.
You get what you pay for
Comments: A worthy investment for all kind of SEOs, you get what you pay for and the features it offers will make many processes easier for you.
Pros:
The fact that it has many useful features that its competitors do not offer (or do offer, but not quite the same with the helpfulness). These include the on-page SEO checker, log file analyzer, backlink analytics (especially the toxicity score of harmful links targeting your domain on this one is unique and helpful), backlink gap and the map rank tracker for Local SEO. Makes the life of an SEO so much easier when compared to similar tools.
Cons:
The only downside of Semrush is its pricing. Especially if you are a freelance SEO like me. It is worth the investment but I think it may offer some discounts for one-person companies.
Excellent functionality, questionable accuracy.
Comments: I demoed the tool and advised whether it should be adopted by my team (it was adopted in the end.) I found the tool both thorough and easy to use in terms of competitive intelligence and keyword tracking, but found significant issues with its accuracy in reporting investment figures. It did an inconsistent job of reporting competitive spend data but was more than competent at just about everything else.
Pros:
Excellent at tracking keywords and competitive SEM activity at a high level. If you want to know the when and where of competitors' activity on search and digital SEMrush is easy to recommend. Very easy to use while being thorough at the same time.
Cons:
My only complaint was the poor accuracy of the competitive data. We ran some internal studies and found that the tool, while excellent at tracking keywords and the when and where of competitors' activity on search and digital, its accuracy was all over the place in terms of the actual dollars spent. If you aren't looking for hard $$ of *how much* your competitors are investing in search, this is still a good tool in terms of general keyword tracking, site tracking, and high level competitive intelligence. But the $$ tracking simply wasn't consistent on my end.
Best in class SEO tools
Comments: We've used it for the better part of a decade and it has consistently got better over that time. The latest Ai and local rank features have been awesome.
Pros:
SEMr has a set of tools that we use constantly; API integration allows us to make flows that take 20-30 min take just minutes and the keyword and domain research products are top-notch in the space.
Cons:
Historically the way API units were bought/purchased was kind of clunky and required you to reach out to a person; they've since corrected that.
No Semrush No SEO
Comments: We use Semrush everyday and it is crucial to start a new project or make an offer to a new prospect.
Pros:
There are a lot of configurations, tools, information you can set and find in the admin panel to make your projects work properly.
Cons:
We think the cost is too high and there are a lot of limitations when you reach specific numbers of keywords or researches
