They have an incognito mode that protects the data for your queries. There was no ads interfering with my productivity. The AI gave decent answers. Their AI engine can answer your question, or it can cycle between several other proprietary AIs, picking the best AI to answer your question's specifics. Image creation worked. I disliked creations, but perhaps I am poor at prompting. To me it failed to understand what I wanted, so each creation was a bit unexpected, whether pleasantly, or negatively. > > **Cons**: I had a pro account, 1 year paid subscription. By the 4th month of my 12 month subscription, perplexity changed the sign in requirements which blocked my access. They did a system update and now required mobile SMS verification; which was something they previously did not require. I do not have a mobile phone so I could not comply. Support refused to help me and would simply repeat "SMS verification is now a requirement to access account". This was a breach of our contract. I find them to be cavalier with their customers and consumer protection laws, and as such, I cannot trust renewing my subscription with them and have wasted a lot of time and money. > > The AI worked satisfactorily, but the consumer service was useless. I joined a friend's enterprise plan for a couple months to try it out and then left, then all my chats and spaces disappeared as if I started a fresh account. My previously pro account also is no longer working for some reason even though I still have another 7 months left on my plan. I email their enterprise support, get a chatbot response with a canned message to follow certain instructions which I did, and then complete silence for 2 weeks. I follow up, get the same chatbot answering saying I'll get a response when I can, and then more silence. After another week, I email their other support (non enterprise) saying the situation and how I've gotten no response for weeks and the same AI said that it escalated that request and I'll hear back in 2 days. It's now been over a week. First I didn't know if it was just me or if their customer support sucks, but then I searched online and it turns out that their support actually does suck because I'm far from being the only one. tldr is that this is the worst customer support I have experienced in a really long time. I'd be embarrassed if this were my company. Safe to say that I won't be using perplexity anymore which is a shame because I was looking forward to using the new computer feature, but I'm going to use manus instead ----- ### "Like having my personal assistant who knows where to find and how to fix everything" — 5.0/5 > **M.
