Our country still has strict Exchange Control Policies, so most payment gateways are not available to us at all, including all the big players in the market. 2Subscribe is probably the only real, and trustworthy, payment gateway that has made the effort to build a system that navigates the rules surrounding our Exchange Controls. It also supports our currency, the South African Rand, which means I can use the same payment gateway for local and international transactions. > > **Cons**: Set up is difficult and complicated. 2Subscribe expects you to have already built your website before you can apply for verification. They're extremely strict on the kind of company they are willing to work with (I understand that it is because they are trying to avoid money laundering). Once you have an active and verified account you need to deploy this into your system. The API system is overwhelming, and I found the easiest was to use WooCommerce with a 2CO plugin. I have done the same with Gravity Forms. Trying to manage and code products on the inside portal of their website is very, very difficult. > > The biggest benefit of 2Subscribe is that their Customer Support is incredibly helpful, and even during the COVID19 Pandemic they have been quick to respond to questions and queries that I have. Their team are extremely knowledgable.
