It's easy to learn and use and is cloud based. Integrates with NetDocuments.
I find it difficult to maneuver between the different features.

Replace your law firm accounting software (especially it is PCLaw) with Soluno
Comments: See above
Pros:
We started the practice 25 years ago on PCLaw. As we migrated through different practice management programs (we use Clio now), PCLaw never changed. However, it was clear that it was not getting the love from the developers over time, but they still charged us annually as if it was. We also had significant issues on a semiannual basis that required database rebuilds and tech support. This was in addition to certain usability issues (like getting constant errors every time we needed to email bills to clients). We made the decision to find an alternative in early 2018. With the help of a consultant (Optiable), we were introduced to Soluno. We did our research and spoke with the Soluno team several times in early 2018 to make sure it was a good fit. In the late summer of 2018 we then decided to provide them a snapshot of out data from PCLaw and create a test account. This allowed us to put the software through its paces with our own data. Time entry, emailing fake bills, editing time entries, writing checks, reconciling accounts - you name it, we tried it. And since the folks from Soluno were former PCLaw guys, Soluno just felt comfortable to use. We decided to move forward and went live on 1/1/2019. The transition was smoother than I expected and the Soluno team was there every step of the way. We did have some hiccups in early 2019, but they were quick to address the issues. Overall, we like the product very much and are happy with the decision to migrate.
Cons:
Some of the reporting we were used to in our old accounting package is not available. However, we are told that many of them are on the road map for future release. That said, the few missing reports are easily forgotten by all of the benefits of not having to manage the software and having the ability to access it anywhere.

Trust Accounting
Comments: I have been a PC Law user for 20+ years and this program comes close to that but not quite there yet. I do know however that Soluno tech team is always working on advancements
Pros:
I enjoy the ease of the program I liked that it was full accounting program
Cons:
I would like to have more than one window open at a time I would like to be able to pull a GL report with multiple GL's and I would like to be able to pull a billing report that is separated and totaled by each type of law (dept)

Still getting used to it
Comments: The transition to soluno has been a struggle
Pros:
I enjoy using the feature of selecting multiple invoices or dockets individually or all at once. Huge time saver in that regard.
Cons:
I still do not understand an easy way to see a client's payment history

Hi Tamara, Thanks for taking the time to review Soluno. We're sorry the transition has not yet met your expectations. If you could please contact us at [email protected] we would love to talk to you further about your experience and how we can improve. With regard to seeing a client's payment history, it can also be found in two locations: 1) On the ledger: navigate to Views/Reports > Contact > Ledger > Client Ledger View 2) On the payment allocation listing: navigate to Views/Reports > Receivables > Payments > Payment Allocation Listing. If these views are not available to you, then you will need an administrator to grant you the proper security access. We hope that this helps. Please follow up with [email protected] with any other questions! All the best, Your Soluno Team

New to Soluno
Pros:
The billing features are great that you can bill and email all of your client's at once.
Cons:
Unable to close files, the billing template does not allow for more than one person to be listed on an account as multiple clients can only be copied on an invoice and as mentioned not included on the front page. Unable to set up a contingency agreement arrangement in Soluno. Also reports are difficult to locate in Soluno.

BEST EXPERIENCE EVER!
Comments: I LOVE SOLUNO FOR ACCOUNTING FOR OUR FIRM.
Pros:
I love [sensitive content hidden] and all of the help staff. After 43 years in business, I can honestly say this is the best service I've ever received.
Cons:
Printing is somewhat cumbersome with too many clicks on buttons.
Alternatives Considered:
Soluno is Great for Small Legal Firms
Comments: My overall experience has been great, any time I've had a question I have received a quick response.
Pros:
Easy to use, Provides a lot of options, Laid out well, Does a lot of tedious steps for you
Cons:
Cannot close files, a couple of glitches in the numbering of receipts and in cheque printing
Alternatives Considered:
Soluno
Comments: They need to develop this software more friendly with more capability.
Pros:
Soluno software is restricted to Trust accounting.
Cons:
This software is not flexible as the other accounting software.
Accounting Made Easy for Legal Practice
Comments: Since we started with Soluno earlier this year, I have found it very easy to use, have greatly appreciated the customer service and ability to chat Soluno representatives, and the training materials available online to learn different features and functions.
Pros:
Soluno's interface and ease of use is intuitive and user friendly, especially to people without a specific accounting background.
Cons:
I understand a new feature is being rolled out (which I would love) that would allow users to create a template for certain vendors (such as with different prefilled subcategories).
Accounting
Comments: Time savings is a huge plus with the software. Also the cloud based software is great, easy to access on numerous devices if necessary. I can keep an eye on productivity very easily and that is very important to the bottom line. Very easy to use software.
Pros:
Integration from PCLAW was seamless. All trust activity was moved from PCLAW and that was very important. We have over 30 staff and the videos for all of the functions were very good and almost no additional training was needed. Very intuitive software
Cons:
I really don't like that it doesn't pick up a/r's on billing. Also when changes are made in the prebill mode it doesn't change the trust transfer amount. I often bill 50 matters at a time and I have to be so careful to change these amounts. On occasion I don't catch them and it just looks bad from a client perspective.

Excellent Cloud Based Legal Accounting and Time/Billing Software
Comments: Our firm started about 1 year ago. We launched with Soluno, and it has been the backbone of the firm. Starting a new firm has LOTS of bumps in the road, but the great team at Devlos was never a problem. On the contrary, we view them as a tremendous partner!
Pros:
Easy to use and customize. Amazing customer support. Constantly being improved.
Cons:
No mobile app. Although I think that is in the works.

Hi Patrick, thanks so much for taking the time to review us!
Refreshing Canadian Based Accounting Software
Pros:
This software is very user friendly. A quick tutorial will have you ready to go in no time. The payable feature provides the ability to upload a copy of the invoice being paid which can be extremely helpful. The development team is always working to improve the software and user experience. Overall, a positive experience with this software over the last 1.5 years.
Cons:
Integration from PCLaw to Soluno was a pretty smooth process. As they are a growing company it can be hard to keep up with demand for new features, like specific tailored billing templates, however, they do take your input on what is needed for future updates.
Singing the Praises of Soluno
Comments: The customer service is absolutely amazing and they are there 100% of the time including evenings and weekends. They walked us through our Law Society Audit and were incredibly helpful for our preparation.
Pros:
The software is very intuitive and user friendly. One of my favourite things about Soluno is that my version is completely cloud based so I have full piece of mind that I will never lose data and is being backed up in real time and also that my clerk can log in from home and update the books. A cell phone option is already included so I can docket in real time straight from Court.
Cons:
No real cons although I am excited for the additional features planned for the future including more additions to Soluno's "heat map", calendar view to break down docketing, per day, per month, per year. I am looking forward to being able to record my meetings and full schedule in the same software.
I wish I could recommend this product
Comments: Unfortunately, despite the pain of the transition from PCLaw only a year ago, I am looking for other options.
Pros:
It is an an adequate replacement for PCLaw, and functions more or less the same way. No big improvement, no big loss, but cloud based instead of client-server.
Cons:
We struggle with their support, and in particular with our needs which are higher volume, high number of matters per client, and multiple currency. None of these are particularly well supported by Soluno. We have no visibility into the product roadmap, and have recently been blindsided by changes that significant degraded the user experience for us (receiving payments before invoices generated).
Great Program
Pros:
The accessibility, organization, convenience.
Cons:
I have not encountered any issues therefore nothing to not like.

Comments: Good
Pros:
Reliability
Cons:
Billing function not that user friendly
Alternatives Considered:
Soluno for Small law firms
Pros:
It's easy to learn and use and is cloud based. Integrates with NetDocuments
Cons:
I wish the time reports were easier to read and/or were able to be customized.
Review for Daily Use as a Paralegal
Pros:
How the system asks you if the cheque was printed properly in case there is an error.
Cons:
Opening client ledgers or fee ledgers results in an error code sometimes. If I make a bunch of time postings on the wrong date, I cannot change the date posted, in the calendar, resulting in me having to individually go into each matter under file manager, then fee ledger to change the date, and that takes up a lot of time. [SENSITIVE CONTENT] has noted it is not easy to figure out how to get reports or paste reviews of files/time postings.
Great Product
Comments: Smooth transition, easy to use to perform essential law office book-keeping tasks.
Pros:
It is a huge improvement over PC Law. More user-friendly, more intuitive, more stable, and being cloud based is essential. Customer Service has been great tweaking the program for my particular needs.
Cons:
Nothing so far. Customer Service tweaked aspects of the program that did not meet particular needs in my practice. They did so quickly, and to my complete satisfaction.

STEP (Soluno Tech Education Program) - Soluno in a College Training environment
Comments: Soluno has been a godsend for our law clerk students. It offers everything we were hoping for in a legal accounting package to train our students on. It can handle everything from the basics of legal accounting to the most advanced tasks while offering robust reporting with superb customization options. Soluno also offers excellent integration options with Microsoft Office apps/services such as Outlook and we have had tremendous success incorporating these integrations with our curriculum. Overall, Soluno is one of the best software-as-a-service (cloud based) products I have ever worked with. I cannot recommend it more highly!
Pros:
Soluno is a joy to use for many reasons: it has an extremely intuitive interface that allows users to get to what they need to do quickly and surfaces all the features they need to get their work done. My students quickly learn how to do things in Soluno and sing it's praises constantly when completing their work!
Cons:
So far I have not found Soluno lacking in any area.

Hi Nicholas, Thank you so much for taking time to review Soluno! We are delighted to hear about your experience with the product and with the STEP program. We are excited to continue working with you and providing value to you and your students in the future.
Hard to navigate
Pros:
I did not like anything about this software.
Cons:
I don't like the layout. It makes it hard to find things on my own, without seeking help.
Glad we made the switch
Pros:
A big factor of me wanting to switch was the clearer format for docketing my time and the fees/expenses related to files. Soluno definitely has made that process super clean and organized.
Cons:
When opening new files, requesting cheques etc. I would prefer if it would default to today's date rather than the last date used.
Alexander Moisseev - Litigation Support Assistant Review - Approximately 2 Months Experience
Comments: Although I have only been using Soluno for two months, I am overall pretty satisfied and think the product was well designed. However, the glitches need to be fixed.
Pros:
I like the sections at the top of the software, which allow me to easily switch from different tasks such as generating accounting reports, entering cheques and receipts, processing and editing prebills, etc. I like the depth and amount of features for legal accounting.
Cons:
The software has some glitches sometimes, such as not loading cheques for me to print. Another glitch I have been experiencing that hasn't been resolved yet is that when I go to edit a prebill, and I want to uncheck certain dockets, the checkmark boxes to the left of the dockets are misaligned with the dockets themselves. I have previously wrote to Soluno support about this but they were unable to help me.
Functional, Reliable tool but requires some minor updates to improve.
Comments: I am still new to Soluno but am overall impressed by how functionable, and useful this tool is for tracking files and information needed. I think there are a few fixes that could make this even better as it does have a lot of potential.
Pros:
I appreciate how Soluno simplifies my time. I find it to be reliable, resourceful, organized and easy to navigate, unlike other software I have used in the past.
Cons:
slow response time, crashes from time-to-time. The biggest issue i have run into with Soluno is the inability to open a client file for two clients together. This ultimately creates confusion when we need contact information etc.
Soluno is a great product
Pros:
- Easy to use- Easy to keep track of time, and expenses - Information stored in one place
Cons:
-Freezes, and crashes quite a bit.- Information for client profile is sometimes hard to enter
Megan's Review 2023
Pros:
The buttons are easy to locate, the timer for keeping time, quick entry option.
Cons:
The screen often freezes and it would be better if there were more buttons to access different pages.
