Leveraging Applications Manager for full stack application performance observability

4.0 3 months ago

Comments: Applications Manager's full stack observability in a single plane simplifies monitoring by quickening incident response with their root cause analysis feature. With our distributed architecture for our business applications, Applications Manager was able to provide a single pane to view the different metrics and attribute status of the entire environment. Starting monitoring from the infrastructure servers where the applications are installed, you can review resource utilization, to the respective application technologies like databases where you can get notified immediately if a specific scheduled job fails to run, and the web apps and app servers, finally to the actual end user experience where you can confirm the service delivery to the end user through synthetic and transactional monitoring. Applications Manager provides all this visibility which brings application performance monitoring to the next level

Pros:

Support for the full stack monitoring and also readily available templates for different technologies which simplifies onboarding and monitoring. Transactional monitoring with APM Insight which fully monitors any activity going through your application and shares important insights and metrics which are a clear indicator of the application performance.

Cons:

Failure to support monitoring for ATM related attributes like cash trays details. We can easily monitor ATM availability but cannot pick up on details like tray jams, or empty trays.

ManageEngine offers excellent observability features for an affordable price

5.0 last month New

Comments: One of the main reasons we chose ManageEngine Applications Manager is due to its ease of use and the range of features offered at a fraction of the price. We had a smooth onboadring process and even when we had difficulties operating the product, the assistance by the technical team was truly exceptional.

Pros:

Our primary focus is IT infrastructure monitoring, particularly database, server and application performance monitoring. APM capabities, distributed tracing, and database monitoring is extensive with granular level insights. With ManageEngine Applications Manager, we were able to overcome our challenges with visibility and issue management. The intelligent alerts and RCA provided the means to reduce the MTTI and MTTR significantly. Applications Manager also has something called forecast reports and anomaly detection, which helps us forecast the possible resource/performance bottlenecks that may occur. That helped us pre-empt a lot of issue that could have costed us our business.

Cons:

The reports need to be enhanced. To get advanced analytics, we need to integrate with Analytics Plus. The UI lacks color and aesthetic, that can be improved as well. AIOps is limited.

ManageEngine Application Manager: A Comprehensive Performance Monitoring Solution

5.0 2 months ago New

Comments: ManageEngine Application Manager is a cost effective and feature rich monitoring tool offering comprehensive coverage of servers, application, database, and hybrid environments with real time tracking, root cause analysis and customizable dashboards. It is user friendly for basic setups but can require technical expertise for advanced customization and integration. While is provides reliable supports and resource, users may face challenges with performance in large setups, alerting system, customization and less modern UI.

Pros:

Comprehensive Monitoring: It Supports diverse applications and technologies, including web servers, databases, cloud services, ERP systems, and more. Also, an End-to-End Visibility Offers insights into all layers, from infrastructure to applications.

Cons:

Complexity in Advanced Configuration: There is a steep Learning Curve for Advanced Features while the basic setup is simple, configuring advanced monitoring, custom scripts, or integrations can be challenging for some users. And Script-Based Customization requires technical expertise for creating or modifying custom scripts.

If you can ping it you can use Application Manager

4.0 7 months ago

Comments: I am the one in charge of it for all of our alerts

Pros:

Adding devices and configuring generic alarms about the health of servers and processes is generally straightforward. Support is fantastic if you have an issue. You can email or chat with them to get help.

Cons:

Implementing scripts when an alarm occurs is kind of a pain. You install the script on the remote host for Linux hosts, and then the Application Manager will call if there is an alarm; for Windows hosts, it's super easy to restart services or applications or execute the script.

Extensive Monitoring Capabilities with Improvement in Usability

5.0 5 months ago

Comments: Organizations searching for comprehensive analysis of infrastructure will discover ManageEngine Applications Manager to provide an amazingly efficient and flexible monitoring solution.

Pros:

Its user-friendly interface, the platform is easily accessible and usable by me with varying levels of technical expertise. The alerting system is robust and customizable, responds quickly to issues. It develops well with the organization and is suitable for both small and large organizations.

Cons:

Due to certain users, the application can become highly resource-intensive, especially when monitoring a lot of endpoints. A problem for our organizations with limited funds is the potential increase in licensing costs with an increase in the number of monitored devices.
