Securing my data with OneDrive

5.0 4 weeks ago New

Comments: OneDrive has been very useful for storing my files in the cloud without needing to save everything on a specific device or carry it around all the time. It lets me open and edit my files on any device with internet access.

Pros:

What I like about using OneDrive is its cloud storage, which saves a lot of space on my device. It also allows me to access my files regardless of the device I'm using. OneDrive integrates well with other tools I use for work, whether it's creating documents or presentations.

Cons:

What I don’t like about OneDrive is that it has limited storage and doesn’t allow me to use many GB in its free version.

Steve Rob Music - OneDrive Review

5.0 4 weeks ago New

Comments: OneDrive is excellent, especially when we need to share a confidential file and can protect it with a password. We also appreciate the customization options for folders, allowing us to change folder colors, like making one purple or red, for easy organization. Additionally, we value the ability to adjust storage limits, choosing between options like 1 TB or 2 TB as needed.

Pros:

We’ve been using OneDrive in our organization and appreciate how it enables us to organize files more effectively. We also value its ability to limit access, allowing us to share specific folders exclusively with certain departments, such as Human Resources, for example.

Cons:

Two issues we have with OneDrive are, first, the slowdown we experience when syncing desktop files to OneDrive. For example, if we sync a large folder full of files, it noticeably impacts our computer's performance, despite our devices generally being quite powerful. It would improve our experience if the syncing process caused less interference with our computers' speed. Secondly, we frequently encounter problems with incomplete uploads, especially with folders containing subfolders, images, PDFs, and other files. Once the upload process finishes, we often see a notification stating that certain files weren't uploaded, which is frustrating. We then have to attempt re-uploading those files individually, which is both time-consuming and inconvenient. It would be helpful if OneDrive provided more detailed explanations about why certain files couldn’t be uploaded.

OneDrive has come from behind in the cloud storage race

4.0 4 months ago

Comments: Storing files to the cloud with OneDrive and sharing and syncing data across devices has become simple and seamless across the devices I have it installed on.

Pros:

1TB of OneDrive storage is included with my Microsoft 365 supscription.

Cons:

It wasn't as good as Dropbox at first but it got better. It just took it some time to get better.

OneDrive- great for One Drive, terrible for more than one!

4.0 last month New

Comments: The overall experience is 4/5, there is no better alternative for me right now and Microsoft is trying to improve the product constantly- I just wish if they look for users suggestion more often. To avoid problems with multiple users I have to use 1 user account (windows) with 1 user for one drive.

Pros:

It works very well with Windows PC- almost smoothly. It works quite well with Android mobiles. Live updates on multiple devices (as cloud should work). Bulit-in desktop app that workes seamlessly like other folders (on windows)

Cons:

From time to time it has problem with synchronisation but it alwayes inform you about the reason of it. There is a certain maximum character limit for path+file folder name, which doesn't allow for deep structured folders. The cap is bigger for commercial use but still not enough to run a huge and deep folder structure. Unfortunately Microsoft did not worked out properly multi-user work- I have 3 accounts (2 businesses and 1 personal) and it does not recognize which account should oper certain file. Picture backup is terrible- I had to use another software for that.

Useful but not easy to sync!

5.0 last month New

Comments: OneDrive is a good tool to sync everything in one place but it is not always intuitive. It also fails to sync to the desktop files often.

Pros:

It’s good for collaboration and syncs up well with Microsoft tools such as teams.

Cons:

I find it difficult to navigate without clear training. It’s not as easy as SharePoint.

OneDrive, one and only way to get cloud space!

5.0 2 months ago New

Pros:

As a Microsoft user having OneDrive integrated with all my other softwares, makes it a lot easier to be sure all of my documents are secure in the cloud and spares space in my laptop.

Cons:

It’s easy go get disorganized if you don’t implement a system in the beginning of OneDrive usage

Easy to use and a winner

5.0 2 months ago New

Comments: Makes folder management really easy. It’s easy to share links to documents or folders with different levels of access.

Pros:

Really simple to use. I like that you don’t need to exit the windows folder library to use one drive, it makes it so straight forward and intuitive.

Cons:

I’ve found that if there are ever issues syncing your one drive, meaning your documents or work hasn’t been uploaded yet, it’s not made as obvious as it could do. You’ll see a small yellow exclamation mark on the icon in the bottom right but I find that is easily missed. That is my only negative feedback - other than that, it’s a great seamless feature.

Pros:

Easy to use, very low cost, reliable and safe data storage with file sharing options to suit multiple circumstances. Comes with Office Suite and mobile image back up also so does everything required.

Cons:

The mobile app can be a little slow at times and doesn't have image tag search like the gallary on phones.

Nice MS Office integrated cloud storage

4.0 2 months ago

Comments: Nice MS Office integrated cloud storage.

Pros:

Nice MS office integration and desktop apps. Easy access on major platforms, Windows, MacOS, iOS etc.

Cons:

Overall, no real complaints nor cons of use. Google drive and google workspace integration is better for live collaboration, but that’s not OneDrive’s issue.

OneDrive works great and you already have access via O365

4.0 3 months ago

Comments: Overall, it has feature parity with other cloud storage providers and the mobile app is really also reasonably good. I like being able to automatically sync pictures that are taken to onedrive storage. The integration with other O365 services, especially power automate make it very useful for us in sharing files without having 700 copies floating around in the email system.

Pros:

It's integration with office 365 and even the windows 11 OS. We are a heavy Microsoft 365 shop and having that integration allowed us to move a lot of things to the cloud as we continue to be primarily remote across our org.

Cons:

There are some poor design choices when it comes to things like "syncing" a folder vs creating a link to it and how deleting the link will actually delete all the data from Onedrive. Things that need to be corrected to avoid confusion.

Great Cloud Storage!

5.0 2 months ago

Comments: My overall experience with OneDrive has been positive. I have never had any problems getting files on multiple devices. You can quickly search and download all your files on multiple devices.

Pros:

The one thing I like most about OneDrive is its free to use. You can pay a subscription to get my storage if needed. I am a teacher and use multiple devices. I have a computer at work, at home, a laptop, and a tablet. I have all my devices connected to OneDrive. If I am working on an assignment at work, I can easily pick back up when I get home. I don't have to worry about saving everything to a flash drive and pray I don't forget it before leaving. I also like to have backups of everything I do. OneDrive makes it simple to search for a certain assignment

Cons:

One of the cons of using OneDrive is you have to pay to get more storage. You would think they would include this when you buy a Microsoft account.

Very usefull for backups.

5.0 9 months ago

Comments: I've been super pleased with it. Refreshing end users' laptops went from taking 30 minutes to an hour to less than 5 minutes for migrating the data.

Pros:

Moving data between computers is incredibly easy. Beforehand I would have to manually move data via hard drives. Being able to sign into OneDrive and have all your data move over seamlessly is an amazing feature that I would hate to go without.

Cons:

Since we don't use OneDrive too much outside of the backups, there really isn't any cons.

Seamless Integration for Microsoft ecosystem users: OneDrive

5.0 3 months ago

Comments: It’s incredibly convenient for anyone already using Microsoft’s suite of tools, as it integrates smoothly with Office apps like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. On the downside, if you're not fully immersed in Microsoft’s ecosystem, it might not offer as many benefits compared to other cloud storage services.

Pros:

If you are microsoft ecosystem user, such as Word, PPT, Teams, Excell, OneDrive is an excellent cloud storage service. OneDrive integrate with other Microsoft services and offers a user-friendly interface and allows for easy file sharing, syncing, and collaboration across devices.

Cons:

The main disadvantages could be that if you are not microsoft ecosystem user, you should check other storage service which are syncing with your softwares.

Pros:

It integrates so smoothly with the rest of the Office 365 suite, as well as it's native integrations and backups for Windows 10/11
