Incredibly effective platform for communicating with clients on web development

5.0 5 years ago

Comments: Love it. Small hiccups here and there but excellent product and does what I need it to do.

Pros:

*Ease of use: clients who self-identify as "not a computer whiz" had no trouble using the platform and features. *Ability for client to view a webpage, click somewhere on it, make a comment about that area, and move on...all while tasks get created and organized in a "to do" list gets generated in the background...makes client feedback a BREEZE. *Effective tracking: even if the client isn't labeling comments, tasks, requests, etc "properly", it's very easy to follow activity and make sure nothing gets lost or forgotten *Pricing is appropriate and worth it *It does everything I needed for a remote website development project: get client feedback, revise, and complete with no crossed wires or forgotten/lost requests. And no misunderstandings or miscommunications - the record is right there! Total project management solution.

Cons:

When the "collaborator" (ability to add a "client" is an enterprise only, custom price point) provides feedback, the task status isn't automatically changed from "waiting on client feedback" - so the "collaborator" (ie, my client) has to manually change the status to something else - otherwise the task, although provided with feedback, remains in the "I'm waiting on you" stage. The method for changing the status is simple - but clients don't need to be bothered with the multi-step process of making sure to adjust "tags". Having said that, the way to go about making sure that the client has in fact provided feedback (despite the unchanged "status") is to simply sort tasks by activity. Which is where we arrive at the main issue I have: At the time of this writing, you could sort tasks by date that a task was modified - but you can't add a secondary filter (ie: "modified BY"). Which means that while a client may have provided feedback and forgotten to change the status, I'm simultaneously modifying or adjusting other tasks.... hence I'm not quickly and easily able to filter the list for tasks that the client has recently modified. It's not the end of the world - it just created a bit of extra work having to go through the "Recently modified" tasks one-by-one to make sure that I hadn't missed anything. Yes, I can go through the list of "waiting on client" ....but completed tasks, where client changed their mind & added a revision w/o changing status away from "completed".....

Usability is a bit of an issue

3.0 11 months ago

Pros:

I liked the selection of tools available for bug capture and issue management.

Cons:

The bubbles hid other parts of the screen, and it took too long to keep moving them around. Also, having the issues all show up on one page got very confusing. We went with a tool that takes a screenshot and allows us to annotate it instead.

zipBoard Response

Hello Danielle, We appreciate your feedback on our tool, especially your positive comments about the selection of bug capture and issue management tools available. We understand your concerns about the bubbles and the way issues are displayed, and we'd like to address them: 1) Users can currently hide the bubbles when not needed. This can be done by clicking on the "Hide all popups" button in the toolbar, or you can "Toggle Opacity On" in the comment itself. 2) The issues are displayed in the context where they are added. If you add several issues to the same page, they will all be visible on that page. But you can also utilized the filters. 3) We are glad you mentioned the option to take screenshots and annotate them, as this is indeed another valuable feature available in our tool. We believe that the points you raised are valuable and will help us make our tool even more user-friendly and effective. Please feel free to contact us if you have any further questions or suggestion.

The easiest & most useful, but not the only place to find jobs

5.0 6 years ago

Comments: i wish more job boards made it this easy to apply. i also like the feature that lets me know if a company is interested in me. i guess another thing would be that i've yet to get a job through this site.

Pros:

lots of local listings, very easy to use and apply for jobs

Cons:

hard to find remote jobs, not all job matches are a true match, too many emails matching me to jobs that don't match, and misleading headlines in the emails saying there are certain types of jobs available, but when i look at the listing it doesn't add up

Great and Easy to Use

4.0 6 years ago

Comments: We are a mid-tier manufacturer who has to organize jobs by contract, shipping destination, and timeline. zipBoard allows us to see all of our jobs in one place and easily organize them by priority, especially in this busy time of the year.

Pros:

The user interface is very easy to navigate and nothing to tucked behind confusing menu options. When you click on an option, you get what you click and nothing else.

Cons:

The color scheme can sometimes be a bit glaring if you're working late at night with your laptop as the only light source. Not a huge problem, but something worth noting.

Perfect for Website Audits

5.0 6 years ago

Pros:

Here's the thing, I'm a visual thinker and so are my clients. In meetings you will find us drawing things out and explaining ideas with pictures. When it comes to websites, explaining changes and revisions becomes harder because you can't just start drawing on your screen. That's where zipBoard makes our lives so much easier. We can easily make comments and describe changes right where we need them rather than going in circles on email. It also helps us out with website audits for potential clients to show proposed changes in design. We can easily make relevant notes that are not only helpful for us but easy for our client's to understand. It doesn't take long to familiarize yourself with the software and the Chrome extension just amplifies that.

Cons:

There really aren't many negatives that I can say about zipBoard. Overall, I've had a great experience using it.

Good Concept, Poor Execution, Has Potential

3.0 6 years ago

Comments: Another huge plus about zipboard is their customer service. Very responsive, helpful, and where they can make immediate tweaks or improvements, they did.

Pros:

zipBoard has an extremely intuitive dashboard and is very easy to setup. Managing users and projects is perhaps more simple than any other product I have used for web and app testing. Allowed us to test elearning courses and websites easily.

Cons:

However, actual execution of a project is kind of buggy. Our users tended to log repeat bugs and not have good visibility into what others were reporting, and we had lots of duplicate issues or screenshots. The logging of bugs and management of them was a lot more complex and cumbersome than the rest of the platform.

Really nice but lack on usability

3.0 6 years ago

Pros:

It is really nice to use, has all the feature I need to display bugs and rate and see the road it took

Cons:

If I'm not a admin I can't delete something, can't see the history of something, the comments don't scroll with the page, little things like that

Great tool to review eLearning projects

4.0 6 years ago

Comments: zipBoard definitely sped up our workflow and now we have less errors thanks to the software. There is still room for improvement and I like that the team is constantly working on new features and is very supportive when we want to add a feature or change something.

Pros:

I like the ease of use of zipBoard and that I can take screenshots and point the person in charge to the exact location. The filter options are also great.

Cons:

The software is sometimes buggy and freezes. When we work on a large project, it sometimes does not work. We've had clients refusing to use the software because of firewall restrictions.

Easy to use

4.0 5 years ago

Comments: Faster review cycles

Pros:

Easy to use. Like that fixes and changes are reported in context, you don't have to find the slide that has the error. Good for remote review. I like the link for a reviewer has a how-to video before they use the software. Yet some still don't follow it!

Cons:

I've had some SME reviewers mix up slide titles with comments on the content. In other words, they did add a comment on screen, they clicked the title and made the comment there. So it can be confusing for some.

zipBoard Summary Review

4.0 6 years ago

Comments: My overall experience with zipBoard was a decent one -- there was no frustration that caused me to not use it, and being able to utilize this tool helped me in my career

Pros:

I liked most that it was fully functional and progressive in the sense of technology. It wasn't older than time, and it was accessible to those that come from earlier generations, as well as newer ones.

Cons:

What I liked least was the spamming via email, and the length of time it took for customer support to acknowledge and help those that were seeking it.

Easier reviewing

4.0 6 years ago

Comments: Gathering feedback from multiple people can be difficult, but this makes it easier because everyone can review directly from within zipBoard.

Pros:

The ability to capture an image and comment it while working through whatever I'm reviewing. I also love the filtering capabilities when I'm looking through the submitted feedback.

Cons:

Wish there were more markup tools. It's a bit clunky working with the available tools and from the expanding right pane.

Great tool for e-Learning

4.0 8 years ago

Comments: I used zipBoard for reviewing an e-Learning course. Great product. I can view it in different resolutions, add comments and track various issues.
A draw back is that there is no selective permission for users in the project. So everyone has equal access instead of hierarchical access.
All in all, I'd recommend it to others!

Website review

5.0 5 years ago

Comments: Good. I'll definitely use it again.

Pros:

It was pretty intuitive and easy to access for any team members and to invite other people collaborate.

Cons:

The markup functionality was challenging. We used it to manage collaborative files and also to mark up websites that were in development. That user interface needs some work. It wasn't the most efficient.

A good product to take design specifications

5.0 6 years ago

Comments: As a developer it was easy to understand the design problems, and what to fix, when posting a screenshot, and assign a tasks for the changes on it. It is really helpful, when the reviewer is far away.

Pros:

Love the feature to comment on items, create tasks about design changes.

Cons:

Because I am new to the product, it was hard to find some function.

Great

5.0 6 years ago

Comments: Great experience. My company will continue to use them.

Pros:

Ease of use. Many websites are difficult to navigate through but zipBoard was surprisingly very easy to find everything needed. Also you can try it for free.

Cons:

Not exactly a con, but there are many options that may be overwhelming at first glance.

Great for bigger teams

4.0 6 years ago

Comments: Overall it was a good experience, but it was overkill for my small team

Pros:

really easy to use and understand quickly and use with a variety of sites

Cons:

It ended up being overkill for a small team, but I could really see the benefit with a bigger team to ensure that items are tracked and solved.

Comments: It was good, not great, but I would use again :)

Pros:

Cons:

The UI is definitely old Not extremely intuitive for a first time user I do not like how screenshots are always taken
