Great virtual learning environment for our clients

4.0 8 years ago

Comments: Learning Stone enabled us for the first time to offer our European clients a fully customisable, cloud based, attractive, professional virtual learning platform, with a modest investment in time and resources. After a full year, we couldn't be more pleased. The interface is absolutely great, with a solid design 'under the hood' that is still being improved. We find it easy to work with, tailoring each and every course timeline to the specific requirements of the client, including their language, logo, and house style. The system is very stable, and while some functionalities are not fully intuitive, customer support is always at hand. Apparently we're not the only ones who work crazy hours. We appreciate that our change requests are invariably taken very seriously and usually lead to the desired outcome. One of the most important features has been that even my technically less savvy colleagues quickly learned how to use and enjoy the system, and not just by the easy copy-and-paste and tweaking of existing course timelines. The built in storage and video upload works great, enabling us to share all our materials with the client in a heartbeat. And it's fast! Adding, modifying or deleting building blocks, and moving them around, is literally a matter of minutes. Add to that the numerous options for group collaboration, a nice survey tool and low cost per user, and you have a winning formula. I'm convinced that 'blended learning' will become increasingly important and that the same applies to LearningStone as a leader in the field. Now, if they could only find a way to get the members of each and every learning group to flock to the VLE, sign up and start collaborating enthusiastically, life would be perfect. But I guess that will take just a little longer.

Pros:

- great, versatile interface - easy to learn - reasonable cost per participant - fast and adequate tech support - continuous improvement

Cons:

- some functionalities less intuitive (for now)

Experience using LearningStone

4.0 4 years ago

Comments: Overall, really happy with LearningStone and have found the support offered by LearningStone really great - especially being offered extra training which has helped us get the most out of the site. All in all, a really positive experience!

Pros:

Easy to use from a course manager point of view - easy to set up new spaces and organise them so they are as user friendly as possible. Lots of really great features and I know the participants on our programmes really value having a central space for them to share experiences, access documents and track their learning.

Cons:

When I first started using the site it initially seemed difficult to navigate but in the end it's really straight forward - would recommend taking up the opportunity for training from the LearningStone team as they're really helpful.

Learningstone: a new milestone in online learning

4.0 4 years ago

Comments: Learningstone is a realiable, trustworthy and friendly supplier of a platform which could be one of the leading innovators in the business.

Pros:

It is easy to use and manage new learning journeys after the initial modules have been made. It is easy to sell All clients regardless of their age, platform of OS use it without any support. The are constantly improving it

Cons:

The first steps need guidance (which is given by their friendly support desk) The gamification and reporting basic tools are traditional (and millenials don't really like these) The look and feel is basically ok but it can be more state of the art

Cons:

Getting started was a little bit difficult. Understanding the architecture was a challenge, once this was clear it all became easy.

Ease of use? YES. It really is.

4.0 8 years ago

Comments: I succeeded to get my online training up and running in one afternoon. Granted, I had most of the content sitting in a folder on my hard drive ready-for-upload. Granted, I already had a clear picture how to structure my online course. Granted, I'm not shy when working with a computer. But none the less, working with LearningStone as an administrator feels easy and familiar. LearningStone follows all conventions other web-based services you're familiar with so there's not much of a learning curve. There are no confounding menu's or settings for that matter. It's all pretty straightforward. And while I was setting up my course it was reassuring to be able to switch to the 'user view' with the click of a button and to similarly switch back to editing mode. Typo? Easily fixed. Switch this piece of info for another? Done in 3 seconds. Adding participants took no time at all since you're able to copy/paste an excel file with names and info. When the course started, the participants got acces to the online material without any bumbs and started doing their assignments leading up to the first face 2 face training (getting to know each other, reading up, a preparation excercise). I expected them to get more involved with the 'social timeline' where group members can exchange ideas and opinions - but that took some prodding from our side.
My learning curve on LearningStone is mostly about how to encourage participants to engage with one another, facilitated in various ways by the platform: discussion, collaboration, uploading, sharing, etc. etc. The limitations are not of the platform but consist more of time restrictions and what my wife considers to be a 'reasonable time spent experimenting.

Pros:

Easy to get into Easy to set up Easy to use Easy to administer Easy to reuse courses (copy paste!) LearningStone is very clear about what it can and can't do - no clutter!

Cons:

No support for custom CSS of styling

Unbelievable life saver

5.0 6 years ago

Pros:

After the brief start-up portion, this software has saved the company tremendous amounts of time and money. We do a lot of our training on here and it is a very effective tool.

Cons:

As mentioned, there is a start-up cost in terms of time spent customizing the software to your organization's needs. However, it is incredibly worth the time in the end.

Easy to step in and use

4.0 5 years ago

Comments: We use LearningStone mostly in combination with a training on location. Students can prepare themselves with difficult content by following the e-learning and reflect on this content during the training in stead of following a lecture during the training. LearningStone helps us to set up the e-learning quick and easy. And our students feedback confirms thats they appreciate principle of Blended Learning.

Pros:

- the software is easy to step in for a layman - our students experience no problems logging in - very good help desk - the social features are great for learning in a team, like dialoges, chats, etc.

Cons:

- no app available - the look and feel is a little outdated

Excellent tool to support training and coaching

5.0 6 years ago

Comments: And the LearningStone company provides great support. Very good in turning feedback into new opportunities for growth as partners.

Pros:

Easy to use. Very flexibel and intuitive. Lot's of possibilities. At How Company we use it not only for blended learning, but also for informing participants about the practical and logistic information of training, in beforehand.

Cons:

Actually, there are non. When there are problems or questions for modification, the support of LearningStone is willing to think with you, how to solve it. This can be a 'work around' of even modification of the platform.

Comments: Good eLearning relies more on creative, thoughtful design than on authoring tools. Many reasons why you “can’t do something” turn out to be myths.

Pros:

LearningStone is a safe online learning and collaboration environment that supports training and coaching. Improve your current offering and provide your clients with a higher return on their training and coaching investmentProgress Markers can be added to let either the participant or the coach track achievements for administrative purposes.

Cons:

There is really not much not to like about this product. Im very pleased.Cloud-based training means students can learn from anywhere with an internet connection. But what kind of cloud makes sense for your company? It depends.

Best functionalities of learning platforms around!

5.0 6 years ago

Comments: In terms of versatility and intuitive design this platform beats everything else I have worked with or found in my research so far.
The customer support is outstanding: always very quick and personal!
The ease of setting up and maintaing a program is remarkable.
The only thing I'd like to see more of are elements that support the group aspect and thus social learning (visual representation and some functions).

Pros:

The ability for participants to co-create their learning journey by uploading resrouces, interacting with each other and doing so in a safe space; the ease for the administrator to create a program, add resources and change elements.

Cons:

The focus on the representation for the indivudal learner, with no overview of participation/progress of the whole group; the lack of working with learning goals and being able to include learning coaches (e. g. supervising managers) in the learning process.

Completely blown away by LearningStone's features and tools!

5.0 7 years ago

Comments: It helped us sell a couple deals!

Pros:

The software has taken our business from a static (website-classroom-email) customer experience into a whole new dimension. I think the official term is "blended learning" but for us it's an elevated value proposition based on the digital requirements our clients have for us today. I don't think the future is e-learning but rather in-person learning with tools like LearningStone.

Cons:

Probably that is not as ubiquitous with learning as it could be. I think it's only a matter of time before everyone in learning is using a tool like LS.

Comments: We are very happy because Learningstone gives us the opportunity to introduce a new kind of blended-learning environment for our customers with a lot of possibilities to learn and connect. thereby they are supporting us very friendly and professional.

Pros:

That you can built up your online training on your own way with all kinds of possibilities and that the service of the team is perfect.

Cons:

Maybe it would be an option to connect with an online meeting possibility...

All I want is possible

4.0 8 years ago

Comments: Why bother to develop your own online learning environment, when there is Learning Stone? Everything I want is possible, and so much more. Along the way, I found out many more possibilities I never realized were possible. Not only is my course timeline very clear and are all my documents very well organized. But students can also meet and review each other, I can check each individual's progress, I uploaded SO many data and still not reached the limit, I e-mail students in groups as well as individually for assignments and appointments. To name just a few functionalities. And keeping everything around my courses orderly in one place makes me and my students happy, calm and focused. The customer support is very fast, personal, friendly and thoroughgoing.

Pros:

All my course stuff in one place, orderly and easily accessible.

Cons:

I found the agenda feature not functioning very smoothly.

Great platform for courses with varied content media

4.0 8 years ago

Comments: I really appreciate this cloud-based tool. It has quick uploads and tons of flexibility. My rep and his team are excellent at training and highly responsive with support and requests. The platform is extremely stable, secure and reliable. I like how my participants can interact with me and each other without needing to exchange personal contact details.

Pros:

Lots of different mediums possible. Great support. Lots of features once you understand them all! Fast and very stable.

Cons:

Less than intuitive interface for trainers and participants. Crowded GUI. Low flexibility in overall look and feel of course. Limited to the long narrow column.
