About Asana

Asana organizes and manages work across teams at scale.

Learn more about Asana

Pros:

Furthermore, Asana's extremely adjustable and attractive GUI makes interacting with it a lot more enjoyable. It was well worth the money.

Cons:

When you set up a new account, you naturally are opted in to the email notifications, which can be really annoying and a pain to remove. My only suggestion to the Asana team would be to change that.

Asana, the tool that organizes me

5.0 4 weeks ago New

Comments: Using Asana has helped me work more effectively and professionally by keeping a detailed track of activities and tasks, as well as executing projects in a professional manner.

Pros:

I like using Asana because it makes organizing my projects, tasks, and work much easier. It is also very useful when collaborating with my team because it has allowed me to keep track of all the activities we’ve done.

Cons:

The only thing I don’t like about Asana is that it can be a bit complex for those trying to learn to use the tool, as it has multiple functions, which can be challenging for new users.

Asana is a ROBUST platform!

Comments: Overall, I had great success staying organized with this project mamagement tool.

Pros:

I love how complex of a product Asana is with levels and layers of logic you can built into the tool.

Cons:

It took awhile to get familiar with the layout and way the platform worked, as I was used to using Trello and Kanban boards in Confluence.

An Absolute Must to Stay Sane During the Workday

5.0 2 months ago

Comments: Asana has made my productivity increase greatly. When I share tips and tricks with my team they're amazed at how much more efficient they can be. I don't think I could work without Asana. If my company didn't provide Asana for us, I would still use it.

Pros:

It keeps me organized!! It is so easy to see what I have to do, what others on my team are working on, and when everything is getting done. I love how we can communicate in Asana, provide updates on workflows, and easily adjust as needed. It's amazing that we can work with clients on other boards and just overall streamline workstreams.

Cons:

That not everyone uses it, so sometimes have to figure out how to get people on board or integrate our system with theirs.

Great for Project Management across a remote team

5.0 last month New

Comments: Used widely amongst the team across all areas of the business with vary levels of full engagement. We initially had all the company goals mapped out and had these filtering down into various teams sub goals, but then realised several of the teams weren't using the platform to record in this way, so we downgraded and allow the teams who love it to use it in the way that best suits them.

Pros:

As a project management tool it's strong - lots of really simple to use layouts and project templates so no PM experience required to get started. It's reporting functionality is great too, and goal setting is really useful to the team.

Cons:

The price. We'd love to go for the biggest plan but for a start up it's hard to justify the full cost if only certain teams are adopting it. It can get expensive pretty quickly.

My Brain Now Functions in an Asana View

5.0 2 months ago

Comments: I love Asana, and am a HUGE advocate for it. I am a huge fanatic when it comes to organizing in a way that communicates everything necessary to help understand where something is in a process, without needing to be physically asked, and Asana makes this more than possible. I was introduced to Asana in a workplace, and now utilize it in my own personal life.

Pros:

Simply that it exists. The ability to communicate all statuses, efforts, and steps in a process between all departments without needing to literally communicate, is incredible. Including the ability to template processes, and tasks.

Cons:

I would appreciate it if it was easier to make sections templated easier. I am sure there may be a way to do that, but I do not know how.

Asana is the app you are looking for

5.0 2 months ago

Comments: We've been using Asana as the engine that runs our company for several years, I can't imagine working without it.

Pros:

Asana is the only project management software I've found that has every feature I need, with the most intuitive user interface.

Cons:

Wish it had more third-party integrations, but we found API services to fill that need.

Very Pleased!!

5.0 4 weeks ago New

Comments: Love it. It's a great product that for me is very dialled in now. I won't be moving unless they start removing functionality and options.

Pros:

Asana has a lot of moduality. I'm a very particular person and very systems-minded, and I can really tailor Asana to those specific, high-level needs. That said, Asana manages to offer that power of options without over-crowding the UI/X and making the platform feel sluggish or over-stimulating to view.

Cons:

Very few things that are largely insignificant compared to it's strength. There are small details like the pop-up windows from completed, deleted or altered tasks appearing on the left of screen obscuring the menus/ projects. You have to close each one until you can get to click your next project.

A one-stop-shop for nonprofit project management

5.0 3 weeks ago New

Comments: Asana has been a lifesaver for my nonprofit—we are able to segment our projects into quarters of the year, different programs, and more. We can easily communicate important information and share files pertinent to specific deadline-based tasks. The calendar view helps to visualize critical deadlines, and the robust organizational tools allow us to create prioritized ranking of tasks easily. For businesses and nonprofits, these tools make project management a breeze. I can scarcely remember how we managed before Asana!

Pros:

I love how user-friendly Asana is and how easy it is to share projects with teammates.

Cons:

My only complaint has been my own user error—when I began, I had two different accounts with separate clients and different emails and it made logging in confusing.

A powerful organization tool for when work gets too complicated

5.0 5 months ago

Comments: The beginning is always the most complicated when using new programs. Asana has a very short learning phase and is very self explanatory for most of its features. I went from feeling very overwhelmed with trying to track task progress to now feeling confident in where I am in the process, and can even easily access team progress when sharing tasks with coworkers.

Pros:

The ease of use is incredible. It didn't take long to learn how to use and implement many features of Asana. I was worried that my needs would be too complicated for Asana (think primary goal, tasks, and sub tasks all for the same project), but it proved me wrong. I was so happy to find that subtasks can easily be added with due dates and can easily be shared with colleagues who are also working on the project with you.

Cons:

I don't have too many complaints about Asana. It worked well for my needs, which is why I decided to use it.

Managing Projects

5.0 3 weeks ago New

Comments: Overall setting up a really great workflow around tasks works really well. You can set up different projects with a timeline view that I found extremely helpful.

Pros:

I love managing social media tasks such as captions and hashtags for various strategies. I can manage the daily grind of social media from anywhere in the app and the notifications let's me stay on track for rolling out promotional marketing on a number of social media platforms. In the projects I can create tasks and lists quite easily.

Cons:

It doesn't appear to let me assign another person to a task so the communication function isn't as efficient as I would like.

Asana is a highly approachable project management platform

5.0 2 months ago

Comments: I was introduced to Asana four years ago by a director I was working with. We used it to track our marketing projects. Since then I've used Asana with two other teams, and each time I've joined a new team the platform quickly became indispensable to our project management. It's how I plan my day, update my clients on projects and collaborate with team members.

Pros:

Using Asana is intuitive. It's so easy to pick up. Especially once you find the task view you prefer. I like using the Calendar and Gantt views, but there's something for everyone. It also is a great system of record for projects. The whole team can connect on a project's overall progress but also on its details, and the ability to add hyperlinks and attach docs to tasks keeps everything in one place, which is indispensable for successfully managing bigger projects.

Cons:

I don't dislike anything about Asana, but I've used different tiers of Asana throughout the years and am currently using a tier that doesn't include the ability to set a project's status. I miss that feature.

Asana changes it workplace for the better

4.0 3 months ago

Comments: We’re very happy with how asana has increased our team projects work AND individually employee organization. We use it to help manage employees work loads and oversee productivity. This lets us manage without micro managing: so if tasks are getting done and the projects are moving along (as you can see with an “on track” measuring tool) then we are fine trusting our employees to get the work done. This would be much harder to accomplish without a tool like Asana.

Pros:

Asana has been instrumental in helping our employees and team at a small nonprofit probe, manage and track individual tasks and team projects. It’s been a dream tool in project management across teams with the ability to establish a project visually to all with individual tasks and the ability to assign tasks to others AND see when tasks assigned to others are completed. We establish at employee KPI’s here at the beginning of the year and the Goals function helps us measure and track these with updates you can do monthly, either manually or have them update automatically, depending on your markers.

Cons:

My only complaint is that it has more complexity and capability than we can use without taking the time to really offer trainings in it. So I know we’re using it clumsily and not to full capacity for our event planning for a large fundraising event at the end of the year. But it would take us more time to train using it than we currently have right now.

Asana gave us a fortune in managing our projects.

5.0 3 months ago

Comments: Asana has given our team a helping hand in project planning and management which is why we have experienced great success from our projects. It ensures that we have everything and everyone on the same page during the entire project lifecycle.

Pros:

Asana task view boards allows us to keep up with the real time progress of our work. The team communication tools has offered us an efficient way to keep our team united during the entire project period by helping us share updates easily. It offers exceptional project reporting function that offers incredible insights that allows us to align our work with our objectives.

Cons:

Everything about Asana has melted our hearts. We can't get anything to like least.

Asana Review-MN

5.0 4 months ago

Comments: Overall, my experience has been great. Even when I switched teams at work and my new team didn't use Asana, I continued to use it because it just makes my life easier.

Pros:

I like the automation you can set up on Asana, I find myself using recurring tasks a lot and also being able to complete a certain action on a task automatically sending that task to another section. I also love just how easy it is to use and how aesthetically pleasing it is to the eye. The fun unicorns shooting across the screen also provide a certain level of reinforcement.

Cons:

I'm overall a pretty big fan but there are certain features that don't exist in Asana but maybe they will soon that I wish did already. For example, I wanted to create a task template out of a subtask but found out it only lets you do that with tasks and not subtasks. I reached out to support about it and wondered if as a workaround I could just copy the subtasks from one task and apply them to another and I was unable to do that as well.

Asana has been fantastic for us

4.0 4 months ago

Comments: Asana is a web-based collaboration application that we use company-wide. It makes it easy to delegate tasks, track and allocate resources, and track budgets. Viewing activity logs and tracking changes is an example of the tool's excellent visibility. When one team member makes a change, the rest of the team sees it immediately in Asana's real-time workflow tracking. Impressively, it is compatible with many different operating systems and has proven to be a unified platform where all key team members can see and act on project data in real time. There is a learning curve, especially when it comes to dashboards and reporting, but the power of Asana is limitless.

Pros:

We have reduced our workload by 80% thanks to the computerized approval process. Eliminating repetitive but necessary tasks has increased productivity. Many of our projects are well organized and accessible through the mobile app and to anyone with viewing permissions thanks to the ability to link files and add notes at the row level. With the mobile app, I no longer have to juggle multiple platforms to view my spreadsheets; I can do it whenever I want.

Cons:

I really don't have many complaints about this program. Occasionally there may be an unexpected glitch or loss of functionality, but those are extremely rare.

Asana Task manager

5.0 2 months ago

Comments: It has been exceptional, and it give the opportunity to check, track and also review the work that has been performed and get the information for reports

Pros:

That you can manage task and times for a whole team, giving the opportunity to manage access to the information as needed

Cons:

That it could give some more tools to use and manage projects
