About Domo
Domo puts data to work for everyone so they can multiply their impact on the business.
I like being able to check status of monthly revenue without having to go through our CRM system. Domo automatically imports all relevant information and summarizes it in one sheet.
Domo can be very difficult to learn at first if you are not somewhat familiar with SQL.

Data management using Domo
Comments: It gives a new way technique of data management and analysis. We are very happy with this software.
Pros:
It's easy to customize and drive this program. Our consumers may access data from their mobile gadgets or any location with internet access. Tables and graphs are intuitively laid out for users. The drag-and-drop component makes it simple to assemble visualizations.
Cons:
The execution and customer service have been a disaster. We used two separate advisors for the deployment but never used the solutions they suggested.
Easy to Learn Data Visualization Tool
Pros:
I like the speed I can create new cards to better understand the data behind user complaints or potential areas to improve our system and customer experience. I also appreciate that it was easy to learn the software on the job with a limited background in data.
Cons:
I sometime wish I could create my own card template, and have had to export data to excel to create specific visualizations. Additionally, combining data sources can be clunky.
DOMO covers BI needs of my team, excited to see new updates and product development
Pros:
As a person who mostly works with ETL and Data visualization I can say that cards and dashboards approach allows developer/analyst to visualize and analyze data, but business users will find it complicated. Working with various data sources, scheduling pipeline updates and reports, setting up alerts, and managing data lineage is easy.
Cons:
Writing and debugging SQL code in ETL pipelines is complicated and long process. Cards are not very responsive to resizing. DOMO has similar to Tableau LOD calculations, but they are not as flexible as DAX.
DOMO Highly Recommend
Comments: Superb! Excellent! Top Notch, Good Visuals
Pros:
Domo is the platform for us! It has all the capabilities we were looking for all in one.
Cons:
Onboarding was a little harder than we thought but well worth it!
A consistent fan and supporter
Comments: I'm a fan of DOMO and I like using it. It allows me and many of peers to use the technology and the data easily in the ways we need to use it to make critical business decisions.
Pros:
It's easy to use. Any tool that requires significant training isn't a tool that is going to be easily adopted. Domo is intuitive and efficient.
Cons:
Not sure this is a domo thing or an us thing, the list of reports needed are extensive.
Easy-To-Work Business Intelligence Tool
Pros:
DOMO plays as an integrated platform that combines data from various data sources so that data scientists and data analyst could easily do the further investigations. The graphical programming tool (ETL) is another advantage for code-less development. The visualizations and dashboards are great for our business intelligence activities.
Cons:
It's hard to set up the PDP policies even with the dynamic PDP policy since all the attributes need manual inputs. The help function is not that friendly.
Strong BI cloud platform
Pros:
The flexibility to quickly alter datasets via magic ETL, beast modes, views and control the data being exposed to dashboards.
Cons:
Sometimes it can take a bit longer to acheive a task in comparison to competitors like Tableau.
Alternatives Considered:
DOMO Tool Feedback Review
Comments: My experience is awesome, I worked in DOMO for almost 5+years and I love this tool
Pros:
Its a combination of everything Data extraction --> building ETL--> Dashboard Creation
Cons:
DOMO is a bit expensive, and the higher management must consider that when compared with other BI tools.
Domo works great with Salesforce!
Pros:
Domo pulls data quickly from Salesforce, which is vital for our company. Salesforce reporting isn't excellent, but Domo gives us everything we need.
Cons:
It is not the easiest to navigate initially, but it is not difficult to figure out.
Data Visualization
Comments: The pros outweigh the cons. best data visualization tool overall
Pros:
Best Data Visualization tool and cross functional collaboration
Cons:
Difficulty in Data Extraction from Domo
Alternatives Considered:
It has its strengths and weaknesses just like the rest
Comments: Overall it's given us what we needed. They have APIs for pushing and pulling data as well as for user and data permissions.
Pros:
I like that it's an off-premise solution so we don't have to build and support a data warehouse.
Cons:
Customer support isn't very good. The helpdesk is virtually useless and they are always trying to push their premium support option for $5K/year when we complain. It's important to get a good Customer Success Manager. We have a really good one now, our 4th, and they are very helpful in getting support issues reviewed and looked at.
Alternatives Considered:
Domo is the best tool for companies who don't have the resources to have their own database
Comments: They have been great, and I had a great experience with their tools. Very intuitive and flexible. The pricing is understandable, considering how many different features you get. You're basically paying for a database as well. I'm not a fan of the way the data is stored though, but it makes sense that they chose to do it that way to get the most $$ from their clients.
Pros:
It's pretty intuitive, and there is plenty of resources available (Domo University + Customer Service) for the parts that aren't as intuitive. Implementation was seamless because they offered us as much help as possible to set it all up the way it needed to be for our business structure. We also liked that this tool had many connectors that are relatively easy to use.
Cons:
It's a bit more on the expensive side. And it can get more expensive than originally planned, because of the cap they have on rows. I wasn't a fan of having to be charged for the original rows coming through and then being charged for the same rows after being transformed. There is a way to not have to create a second dataset and be charged, but for the most part, it's a needed step.
Domo Meets Our Expectations
Pros:
The brilliant features of Domo makes it an amazing tool for data analytics. I am impressed by the ease of use of Domo.
Cons:
Domo works perfectly. No dislikes about Domo.
Awesome Product
Pros:
I can review my metrics to ensure that I am meeting my goals.
Cons:
I do not receive a second report at the end of the day only at the begging of the day.
Domo Product
Pros:
That it has multiple forms to showcase data and selections to create reports.
Cons:
It was simple in many functions and we only displayed it for day to day sales tracking.
Great Producet
Pros:
I love using Domo. It is a great product that gets the job done well.
Cons:
It is a little expensive and can be hard to customize.
Tread carefully. Customer service is extremely poor. The platform is weak compared to Tableau.
Comments: Negative. I will ensure anyone looking for similar software chooses another vendor.
Pros:
How inexpensive it is. Compared to its competitors, Domo is the most affordable option. By no means does this make it the best solution.
Cons:
1) It's functionality is a weak version of Tableau. 2) Their customer service is beyond horrific. Our experience with their platform was sub-par. Renewal notifications were sent to the email address of an employee who is no longer here, and Domo is now demanding we owe them for a multiple year contract. When we politely asked to have it nullified, they sent it to collections. You may save money initially, but you will most likely lose it long term.
Not crazy about Domo
Comments: I am very lukewarm on it, don't have a lot of good to say about it, but the UI looks nice.
Pros:
It works so there is that, but I don't find it intuitive and it requires more clicks for us to get the same info that our last vendor provided
Cons:
Not as intuitive or as easy to use as last vendor. I don't believe my role is their target market which makes sense.
Gets the job done
Comments: We use Domo as a central place to process and visualize data from a number of internal sources. Almost no one outside of our BI team ever visits Domo. But I use it every day to monitor, analyze, and pull insights from our data sets. I found it easy to learn and while it's not without limitations, it's a very powerful tool that's crucial to my work.
Pros:
It's very easy to get data into Domo, clean, process, and visualize it. No code required and fairly easy to use and maintain.
Cons:
Getting data out of Domo is challenging. It's expensive overall, and features like visualization hosting are extremely expensive.
Easy to learn and get value out of right away
Comments: Overall, the experience was positive. When I go into the office, I see Domo pages and charts all over the place. Many different teams are using Domo for their specific interests.
Pros:
To get started with Domo is a very smooth learning curve. You don't need to be an expert to start getting value right away. Both the technical side and the casual users were able to take advantage of Domo immediately.
Cons:
We had some small hiccups with performance that we needed help with. On occasion we had slower than expected response times from Domo support.
Domo IS the way to GO for your Organization
Comments: It has been one of the best tools I have come to know for daily activities and visuals. It has helped me so much to achieve my daily goals, track our metrics accurately, and efficiently take corrective actions when needed.
Pros:
It has one of the best built-in tools and systems aids for our organization's data and/or reporting. We use the system on daily basis and is one of the best decision we made to adopt this tool.
Cons:
It is somewhat "hard" to know how to create beast modes if you are not an expert in the system. However, you can always learn it by taking the Domo University courses that are available inside the system.
There are MUCH better options
Comments: I have personal experience with several of Domo's competitors as an analytics consultant. None of the Storage/ETL/BI use cases I can think of would I put domo in my top 3 options. I have found it to be subpar in data warehousing, query editing, and data visualization which from what I can tell is the majority of its functionalities.
Pros:
This product provides a web-based hub for your data and visuals that centralizes where your team focuses to interact with their data. The ETL tools provide an easy to use low/no code interface to build simple queries.
Cons:
Where Domo has removed complication (I assume to ease the use) they have dramatically limited this software capabilities in comparison to competitors. limitations include: - No ability to build visuals based on multiple tables - No ability to build filtering capabilities across tables - No ability to build relational models with existing tables - All "scripting" capabilities are glitchy and limited in their capabilities - Poor/nonexistent version control options - Compute resources are not brokered well and during high traffic times we can have dataflows run for up to 2 hours My worst experience with domo was with their customer service/integration team. One of their prebuilt integrations to a popular Web App, which domo is responsible for maintaining and servicing, has never functioned properly with our domo instance. The support case has been open for nearly a month and has just been escalated to someone that appears to know how to read the code I have been sending them to trouble shoot THEIR integration. They have promised resolution timelines twice and are now 2 weeks behind their initial promise.

Domo - a great data workhorse
Pros:
The best thing about Domo is the people who work there! I've always had the best interactions when contacting them for help, or working with them in training or onboarding. The dashboards are really nice once you've got them setup, and it's easy to log in and view the data in the program. Mobile works pretty great too. I also really like the workbench that allows you to setup recurring uploads.
Cons:
I took a weeklong training at Domo a couple years ago, and I still struggle to keep up with calculations inside the cards. I think their language could be easier to use. Also I would like to see easier and smoother filtering and searching within the dashboards.
Domo is nice, but has too many problems with loading datasets.
Pros:
visualizations, ddx.
Cons:
Limitations with connectors and datasets, lacking an easy out of the box options to create incremental data loads into domo. the datasets loading can be super slow and take many hours, with no solution given by the tool or by the support agents. lots of bugs with loading data, processes suddenly stop working for no reason. too often domo can load very slow so its impossible to use. support is very bad most of the time.
Good BI tool
Comments: It's been really easy to share dashboards and manage access, and the chat feature is handy.
Pros:
I am a consumer of Domo visualizations, and also have built quite a few of them. My previous experience was with Tableau, but I was able to step into Domo fairly easily. They have good documentation, and I was able to figure out how to present data the way I wanted without too much headache. I really like Domo's tools for arranging a dashboard.
Cons:
The average user is not going to be able to create their own visualizations. I think this is pretty typical of BI software - it's almost always going to be fairly complex
